New Year, New Magazine!
What to expect in the weeks ahead
This space has been a little quiet lately because we’ve been hard at work assembling issue one of Further Light. That’s all about to change because starting next week, we’ll begin publishing the wonderful things we’ve collected: new fiction about Latter-day Saints dealing with the supernatural, new essays about the connections between imagination and the gospel, and new poetry that delights and surprises! Not to mention a few beautiful new art pieces we’ve commissioned to go with some of our stories.
In fact, here’s a small peak at the gorgeous cover art for issue one, created by Emily E. Jones. We can’t wait for you to see the rest, plus all the juicy goodness that’s contained inside it!
Next week, we’ll kick off issue one by revealing the full cover and the table of contents, along with a short editorial from yours truly. After that, you can expect a new piece of Latter-day Saint science fiction and fantasy to hit your inbox or feed weekly.
How do you get access to all this?
All of our free subscribers will receive access to our monthly-ish newsblotters (which will be returning!), as well as editorial announcements like next week’s reveal. To get access to everything else, you’ll need to be a paying subscriber. Your subscription money helps us pay artists and writers for their work. A paid subscription will get you easy and convenient access to a new piece each week, delivered to your inbox or through the Substack app. Anyone who is a paid subscriber by the end of January will also receive a print copy of the magazine! Subscribe soon so you don’t miss out.
We’ll also be participating in the Life, the Universe, and Everything Symposium 44 in Provo. Everything is still looking good for us to have print copies of the magazine available there for purchase, so mark February 12–14 in your calendars and come say hello!
